OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE EMERGENCY SERVICES
in Hudson with Additional Fire Department Staffing
On April 14, 2026, the City of Hudson released an Options Assessment report highlighting the growing demand for fire and emergency services and the need to evaluate staffing and service models to ensure reliable response.

The report outlines costs associated with increased staffing and identifies potential options to fund these emergency service improvements, including via referendum to increase the property tax levy.

In the coming weeks, all households in the City of Hudson will receive a survey designed to help elected officials determine the best path forward.

NEXT STEPS
The City is taking a phased approach to explore funding solutions and engage the community.

-
Phase I: Assess funding options, including a potential referendum
-
Phase II: Survey and community dialogue. In May, Hudson residents will receive a survey designed to help municipal leaders determine the best path forward.
-
Phase III: If a referendum is determined to be the best path forward, the City will provide public education about the referendum and its potential impacts on services and costs.
